The 2017 trials consisted of 50 different long stemmed zinnia, 50 dahlias suitable for cutting, as well as 80 types of gladioli. Come August the trials were at their peak, providing the gardens with an unrivalled spectacle.
Looking at colour, shape and performance both in the garden and as cut flowers, the gardening team set about choosing which plants would work well in displays in our Walled Garden’s borders and flower arrangements throughout the House.
