Botanical Painting Workshop

‘Parham in Bloom’ – A one-day botanical painting workshop at Parham House & Gardens.

Wednesday 24th May 2023, 10 am – 4 pm

Tutor: Leigh Ann Gale

Come and enjoy a relaxing, botanical painting workshop in the beautiful surroundings of Parham House & Gardens.

Late Spring is a wonderful time of year to celebrate the mixed and herbaceous borders at Parham. The Gardens will provide a broad variety of blooms for you to study and with plenty of help and guidance from your tutor Leigh Ann, you will produce a small, botanical painting to be proud of by the end of the day.

You will be led through several stages to produce your illustration, including accurate initial drawings, which you will then transfer to specialist watercolour paper before painting. Using watercolours, Leigh Ann will demonstrate some fundamental painting techniques for you to try out to bring your illustration to life.

The workshop is suitable for all abilities and allows you to work at your own pace throughout the day.

Refreshments will be available during the day. Please bring a packed lunch with you or the Mower Shed café will be open for lunch.

Strictly limited to 12 places

Cost: £60 per person

To book your place, please go to the Tuition pages at www.la-botanicalart.co.uk

Upon booking, you will receive a booking confirmation and equipment list for the day.

First mistress

Parham has been shaped very strongly by the women who have lived in it and looked after it over the past centuries. The first mistress of the House was Elizabeth Verney of Fairfield in Somerset, a goddaughter of Queen Elizabeth I.
