Situated between Pulborough and Storrington, Parham is one of England’s finest Elizabethan houses and contains important collections of paintings, furniture and needlework. It has been open to visitors since 1948 and is also well known for its beautiful and extensive gardens. The surrounding 865 acre estate, which includes a deer park, is set at the foot of the South Downs.


Working within the housekeeping team

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping for the family & their guests.
  • Clean all rooms; clean bathrooms, dust, hoover, mop floors, clean windows.
  • Make the beds and change the linen when required.
  • Spring clean (deep clean) all rooms on a schedule throughout the year, and update and maintain the spring cleaning book.
  • Maintain supplies of cleaning equipment and products in the house keepers’ cleaning cupboard.
  • Lay the fire.
  • Ironing and laundry, both family and bedlinen.
  • Prepare rooms and bathrooms for guests.
  • Lay the dining table for dinner parties.
  • Monitor and treat the house against moth on a regular basis.
  • Report any maintenance issues or repairs that may be required.
  • Assist the family with any other housekeeping projects that may be required.

Hours: 9-12hrs. Morning Hours.

(in addition willing to work occasional evenings and during occasional weekends outside of contract)

Salary: £12.44 per hour (+ 12.07% holiday pay = £13.94 per hour)
