Head Gardener's tips for August

11th August 2015

  • Take semi ripe cuttings of Pelargoniums, Fuchsias and other tender perennials.
  • Prune plum and cherry trees, do not prune them too heavily as they tend not  to recover well.
  • Review your garden at its peak. Make notes to make changes in the autumn, which plants need moving, are too big or do not suit the space.
  • Continue to regularly water tomatoes and peppers to avoid blossom end rot.
  • Continue to dead head and feed containers to prolong the display.
