We are delighted to announce that our beautiful gardens have been awarded Gold in the Heritage category of the South & South East In Bloom Awards.
Judges were impressed by the unexpected creative choices of our Head Gardener, Tom Brown, as they commented: “Parham House Gardens are unlike most other historic gardens insofar as the style of gardening is very experimental, and while the site may be formal, the planting is certainly not. Borders have vibrant plantings where plants are allowed to mingle with others to create a more relaxed style. The hot border and the new blue borders are good examples of this more relaxed style.” Judges also looked favourably on the obvious hard work from the whole team at Parham to keep the gardens looking their best, commenting that a “full force of voluntary support is apparent.”
In addition to winning Gold in the Heritage category, we are also extremely proud of Sam who was recognised as Young Gardener of The Year at the awards, which took place on Wednesday 20th September. Sam has become a valuable member of our gardening team and we are thrilled that his hard work and dedication has been acknowledged.
South & South East In Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in the region involving hundreds of communities each year. Participating communities create lasting improvements to their local environment for the benefit of those that live, work and visit.
