Arrival & Car Park Facilities
There is ample parking for Blue Badge holders adjacent to the House in a designated accessible car park.
Wheelchair users are able to access the ground floor rooms of the House. Please arrange with Admissions on arrival to gain access.
The three ground floor rooms which are accessible to wheelchair users are the Great Hall, the Great Parlour and the Saloon, via two separate ramps.
There is no wheelchair access to the first and second floors, however the House has wide staircases which are fitted with handrails on both sides of the staircase.
Wheelchairs & Mobility Scooters
Because of the age and fragility of the flooring, we are not able to admit powered/battery wheelchairs into the House. We have a number of manual wheelchairs available for use on request, free of charge – if possible please let us know in advance if one is required.
There is reasonable accessibility in and around the gardens, however some of the paths are uneven in places and can become unsuitable for wheelchair users during wet weather.
Access to the Big Kitchen for lunches and teas is by one very shallow step which is accessible to wheelchair users.
Access to the Gift shop is by one shallow step which is accessible to wheelchair users.
The accessible WC is located in Fountain Court.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas, including the House.
