The Gardens

Garden Team

Fifty years ago the gardens at Parham were looked after by a team of almost 20 gardeners. Photographs of gardeners through the years can been found hanging on the walls of the western end of the glasshouse.

Today, the beauty of the Walled Garden and Pleasure Grounds is in the care of a dedicated team of seven who work long hours in all weathers.

Parham’s Head Gardener is Tom Brown MHort RHS.  Tom’s career started at RHS Wisley when he was 16 and he graduated to Senior Supervisor there until he joined Parham in 2010.

A large amount of work is also done in the garden by our Garden Volunteers – we are extremely grateful for all their help, which is greatly valued and appreciated.

If you are thinking of joining the team, more information can be found here.

“Gardens are about atmosphere & mood as well as planting. A positive tranquillity is something
we pride ourselves on"
